An Evening of Hip-Hop

Last night, I went to a local hip-hop show to see a friend’s performance.

It was awesome.

All the rappers had their unique styles and great beats handled by a DJ. There was one performer who caught my attention: he did a cappella spoken word that resonated with me with each performance. He goes by the name of JRO. I found a YouTube clip about one of his works. His poetry is great, and I believe he deserves more attention. I would love to compose a backing track for him. If you enjoy spoken word, please see the video below.

My friend is a member of a local San Diego band, called Parker Meridien, a project by Parker Edison. The set list was amazing. Looking forward to see them often, here is a video of them during a show at UCSD.

I hope, to do some shows in the near future, too.

Until then,

-E.
