• I hope you’re doing well and keeping yourself inspired.

I’d like to share with you a new instrumental boom bap beat I’ve worked on Sunday night. This one was a pleasure to work with and a cathartic experience to say the least at the time of production. It’s tiled “Paz” which translates to Peace from Spanish.

That’s a feeling I’ve been trying to chase and emulate both a musical and personal level.

I’ve been absent from writing and devoting my time to music whenever possible. It’s time to share with you some of my progress. After several life transitions, since the second half of 2021, I realized that I was writing less and less. I stop taking care of my journaling and consequently, this blog.

However, I’ve been practicing and producing at a faster rate and releasing songs often through my Official YouTube Artist Channel.

I tried a different route as far as my music distribution goes. I started to release about 40+ songs since October 2021 on YouTube. While at it I released an unannounced LP titled “Sin Miedo” (without fear) as an official release through Spotify, Apple Music and beyond.

On December 2021, I got the opportunity to collaborate with an author to compose an original piece for a book commercial/trailer, titled “From Tijuana with Love” by Luis Jimenez. I felt in love with the project since it is a novel based on my hometown, Tijuana Mexico, where I was born and raised.

I’ll write more about the experience in a future post.

If you get the chance to listen to the instrumental piece above. I’d love to hear your feedback, thoughts, or comments.

As always, thank you for your support.

    Stay Inspired.

  • I’ve been exploring my lyrics in Spanish, my first language. The reason for that is because I can rhyme and improvise better with it. My written and spoken English is more academic rather than metaphorical or artistic. I felt limited.

This process took several months of trial and error. I’m mostly self-thought on my music and production skills. At a certain point I felt certain guilt of investing so much time, money, and hours on this craft and not releasing anything to the world. While it is not a requirement, I felt compelled to share my music and change of sound since my old project Ernesto Delirium.

I remember that I wrote that Phantasiis was going to be a new project where I’ll focus on hip-hop, rap, and instrumentals. I’ve kept my word. However, this website wasn’t reflecting that.

Which brings me to this post.

Here’s my first attempt at producing a rap song made by yours truly. I’ve invested in a microphone and decided to try it, after much hesitation on my ability to create something different than a rough recording. I’ve used all the tools that I had available and mixed this song to the best of my ability.

    It turned out decent.

To me this is huge as a self-thought music producer. It is a new milestone on my skillset. I’m working on some releases and writing lyrics as well. I’ll update you soon about it.

    Happy New Year!

    On New Beginnings,

    -Ernesto

  • Hello,

Here’s a video of a song I wrote in July. It’s in Spanish. I hope that you like it.

I was having lots of nostalgia when I was writing the lyrics, and the music felt right. There’s times where I write the music first, and the lyrics follow suit. Other times it’s the opposite.

I have a feeling that sometimes when I’m in a flow state the song writes itself. Has this happened to you?

    Let me know.

    Inspire and Create,

    -Ernesto

  • This song was written as a reminder to myself. To be thankful for people that I welcome to my life. To be aware of who I let to hear my story.

It turned out to be a lesson for me.

Thank you for listening. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments or the contact form.

  • Life has been improving with more challenges and constrictions. There is beauty on limitations. Having less time for music may be a good thing.

I’m on my last semester for my bachelors degree. It has been a rough one to say the least, and it has made me appreciate my leisure time. Now, when I have a window of free time, it goes towards the craft.

Getting back at it after a break

This is my first YouTube video where I’m doing an improvisation over a beat I made on Maschine. I’m using a Boss RC-1 Loop Station pedal, and a Blackstar ID: Core Amplifier. It was recorded on the fly with an iPhone microphone.

I’ve been working on some demos for a project under a different name. I’m hoping to release the new project EP by this summer. We’ll see.
